SPRAY OR ROLLER

Spray or roller: Basically, we use two main painting techniques: spray and roller. Generally speaking, the roller method satisfies typical expectations; however, in situations where we need to step up the quality of a finish or give a special touch, we will use a spray.  Sprays enhance the quality of paint project with a smooth and flat texture and leave no paint lines or uneven drywall joints. Although the spray method outdoes the roller, this technique should not be used in every situation.

Preferably, the spray painting requires a solid base preparation and experience of qualified labor, not to mention all the prep work required around the space where the project will take place.  Sometimes the preparation time needed is not taken into consideration by people who don’t understand the process, the preparation phase takes quite a long time and many times supersedes the time spent spraying the area. When customers are not informed about this process, they may feel frustrated, because they assume it will be a quick process with great immediate results.

In the occasion of imperfect walls,  the roller paint method works great and even though they can be painted with spray we prefer to apply a contrasting concept, mixing both techniques and enhancing the project through the use of distinctive types of paint. To emphasize the importance of the correct use of paints and techniques, it’s worth noting that baseboards, panels, and crown moldings usually require semi-gloss, high gloss, or satin finishes contrasting with the corresponding matte finish of the walls.

This is done strategically, along with the selection of correct colors that sends the desired message for your project. Of course, we can use glossy paint on the walls, and it is also possible to use matte paint on panels and frames. All of these details will depend on the sensibility of your designer, your taste, and the quality of labor. Not sure what to do yet? Get in contact with us, it will be a pleasure to help you.
